Access specialist previews IFSEC launches

AC2000 Lite is said to offer small businesses a “feature-rich yet affordable” alternative to the already established AC2000 SE security management system, which uses some of the same software. The system supports CEM’s range of IP hardware products, including advanced IP readers and Power over Ethernet door controllers. Two software licensing configurations are available – one for use with up to 64 doors and another for use with up to 128 doors.

A typical AC2000 Lite setup will comprise one system controller and up to five operator workstations, performing system tasks like graphical alarm management, ID badging, visitor reporting and time and attendance reporting.

“The AC2000 Lite system is set to benchmark the industry as one of the most accomplished security management solutions available for the small to mid range markets, whilst the S610e fingerprint reader provides the industry with one of the most advanced biometric access control solutions available,” said Philip Verner, CEM’s sales and marketing manager.

Flexible fingerprinting

Said to provide clients with a highly-secure, flexible and fully-integrated solution, the S610e fingerprint reader is built for use with AC2000 security management systems. It can be used for biometric template management or for controlling access to restricted areas when an additional layer of security is needed.

Because the reader captures fingerprint templates, personal details and a photo on the AC2000 server (rather than just on an ID card), cards can be issued and biometric templates distributed via the access control system network – eliminating the need for an additional biometric cabling network and software enrolment process.

An internal database lets the reader hold biometric and cardholder data at door level, which should allow the reader to make reliable decisions, even if communication with the access control host is not available.
