The electrical and mechanical contractor for the project was Watson Norrie’s Scunthorpe office and the system was specified by Andrew Cowling of Sheffield-based architect and design consultancy, BDP.
Part of the GB pound 26 million residential development on the marina, it was chosen due to its “aesthetics, features and functionality”.
Stainless steel entry panels with scrolling digital display and combined access / awareness keypads work off an eight-wire digital format.
Internally all 114 apartments feature colour video handsets, while the system has integration into a concierge switchboard for security control to and from the main reception area.
The Bticino 8 wire digital system has also been used for the disabled refuge system using a flush mounted Viva Voce hands free audio unit signalling to an intelligent switchboard.
