Biometric access for internet service provider

CEM’s webEntry II Pro system was selected to improve security at the 20,000 sq ft site on the Isle of Man and will be installed by ADT.

“The webEntry II Pro system offered us the benefit of being completely managed using a standard web browser,” said Andrew Cairns, project manager at Domicilium.

He said his company, which manages secure business internet solutions from 27 sites around the world, will soon have the flexibility to manage all of its operations from one place.

ADT will install InfoProx card readers with on-board databases to ensure only authorised cardholders gain access to secure areas. LG iris readers will be integrated with these to provide extra security in critical areas.

“Domicilium’s security staff can easily operate webEntry II Pro via its web interface and it enhances staff and visitor security throughout their hosting centre,” said Andrew Fulton, business development director of CEM, a subsidiary of Tyco International.

“This solution is ideal for the medium-sized Domicilium building, and allows staff to easily issue ID cards that restrict building access using biometric technology and advanced CEM InfoProx MiFare card readers.”

Using the system, managers should be able to control access to 64 doors, monitor alarms, control IP cameras, produce ID badges and provide time and attendance reports on card usage – from any networked PC.
