Corps Security and Entrotec form strategic partnership to provide complete access control solution

For 25 years, Entrotec has been at the forefront of door entry and access control provision and continues to push boundaries. The company recently added to its portfolio of technologically advanced products with the launch of the Entronet 4000 Concierge System, the Entrotec GSM audio access solution and Entrocare 2100 (a warden call system based on secure digital wireless mesh network technology that’s already changing the way in which sheltered accommodation communication equipment is being specified, supplied, installed and monitored).

Corps Security’s Monitoring Centre staff will now work with Entrotec to provide a remote concierge service to residents in public sector-funded multi-occupancy buildings, including high-rise general needs housing through to sheltered accommodation and domestic abuse refuges.

In turn, this will help improve the residents’ safety, lifestyle and confidence in their surroundings.

How will the partnership work in practice?

When a person tries to gain entry to premises via an Entrotec door entry system, staff at the Corps Monitoring Centre (CMC) will be able to handle the call remotely and restrict access with a combination of CCTV-based face recognition and a pre-defined list of approved individuals.

For the elderly, infirm or vulnerable, the Entronet system can also be used to alert operatives at the CMC if they have an accident or are incapacitated in any way.

The state-of-the-art CMC is itself a purpose-built facility and is one of the most modern and truly independent third-party Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) in the UK.

Eric Roberts, Corps Security’s CMC business development director, explained: “Our centre fully complies with BS 8418, the Code of Practice for the Installation and Remote Monitoring of Detector-Activated CCTV Systems, and is also BS 8484 compliant. This particular British Standard ensures that a lone worker device service is fit for purpose.”

Roberts went on to comment: “In addition, we function over the IMMIX operating platform, which facilitates perfect interoperability between the CMC and Entrotec’s systems.”

Financial savings for the customer base

In light of the recent Government cuts to public sector funding, the financial savings that can be achieved through the use of remote concierge monitoring are enormous.

For example, the expense of having someone attend an event at a site is considerable. With local councils all over the UK looking to cut costs, this solution fulfils the twin objectives of saving money while at the same time improving service.

Commenting on the new partnership, Carole Reddiex (managing director of Entrotec) explained: “We are delighted to be entering into a strategic partnership with Corps Security as they have an enviable reputation as one of the UK’s leading specialist security solutions providers.”

Equally excited about this new alliance, Corps Security’s Eric Roberts concluded: “The combination of Corps Security’s remote concierge monitoring service and Entrotec’s access control technology results in a Best-in-Class security solution. In these austere economic times, anything that can save money while improving the quality of service to some of society’s most vulnerable people should be welcomed.”

Focused and specialist expertise

Corps Security continually uses its focused, specialist expertise to ensure the security, safety and well-being of many of the UK’s leading businesses and organisations.

Established 152 years ago, the Farringdon-based company is one of the oldest and best respected commercial suppliers of security services, offering a wide range of specialist security services which cover every aspect of threat reduction and business protection.

Originally established to provide gainful employment for injured ex-servicemen returning from the Crimean War, this ethos of caring for ex-soldiers, sailors and airmen continues today, with a high percentage of the company’s workforce having previously served within the Armed Forces.

For many, this rather unique history sets Corps Security apart from mainstream security providers. That said, it’s the company’s modern and innovative approach to service design and delivery which has seen it grow to become recognised fof what it is today: one of the market leaders in the UK.
