Honeywell’s new MB-Secure intruder and access control panel launches

Honeywell has launched its new generation intruder and access control panel MB-Secure, a modular panel that can be expanded over time.

Launched this week to coincide with Security Essen 2012, the Honeywell MB-Secure is an open platform featuring firmware that allows the access control and security functionality to be activated as required using license keys.

This means that users can integrate and extend functions from a simple extension of the intruder alarm system to the expansion into an access control and video surveillance system without the need to replace the main hardware.

This modular approach means the panel is scalable and will allow users to upgrade as required rather than investing in a new system.

Horst Richter, Product Marketing Manager at Honeywell Security Group said: “The use of static, inflexible security systems that have not changed over the years, clearly goes against the dynamic change in building utilization and security requirements that we are experiencing today.

“Therefore, more and more flexible systems are demanded which can be adapted easily and at a reasonable price to meet the changing security needs. Honeywell MB-Secure addresses this change, providing all functions of innovative security systems as one open platform.”
