Assa Abloy’s Aperio has been designed to facilitate the wireless integration of mechanical locks into existing access control systems.
Described as facility or security managers experiencing “costly and time-consuming” key control problems, the product won Security Product of the Year at this year’s IFSEC Security Industry Awards.

Wiegand and iClass connectivity have recently been added to the Aperio, allowing it to connect with “almost all” access control systems in the marketplace, the company claim. The product was on show at Controlsoft’s stand from 16-19 May.
Matt Thomas, managing director of Assa Abloy access control, said: “We are so pleased that Controlsoft has enjoyed a successful IFSEC and that they were able to display our award-winning Aperio technology.
“Working closely with our OEM customers and access control specialists is key to us, as it enables both us, and our customers, to provide end users with locking technology that meets both their budgetary and security requirements.
“Assa Abloy has always enjoyed a positive working relationship with Controlsoft and its ability to provide innovative and integrated security solutions to a wide customer base is in line with our business philosophy. We look forward to developing Aperio business opportunities with Controlsoft.”
