Keys invests in SALTO access control

The village, owned by Network Space Ltd, is a joint venture of property developer Langtree and the Government’s national regeneration agency English Partnerships. It’s located in Hednesford, Staffordshire and includes a fully-serviced Business Centre providing contemporary managed office and workshop space for start-up, small and medium-sized businesses.

On-site facilities include meeting rooms, secretarial services and state-of-the-art security and IT capabilities.

Fully-flexible access solution

“To safeguard businesses, staff and visitors the Business Centre required a proven, fully-flexible access control solution that would not only provide 24/7 critical security, but also a means of authenticating identity and securing valuable assets,” comments John Darby of approved SALTO business partner Saturn Architectural Northern (who carried out the installation).

“Every one of the 74 office units are fitted with a SALTO E9450 and AL72 auto firing Lock which provides the benefit of a deadbolt that automatically fires when the door is closed. All landlord areas of the Business Centre, of which there are 15 in total, are also fitted with the E9450 and standard SL00 night latches. Two additional doors in the communal meeting rooms have also been secured with glass door locks.”

The central updating point or ‘hot spot’ is located at the main reception desk where a CU50ENSVN and Mifare-controlled wall reader is installed. These are used not only for internal access into the main building but also for assigning access rights to tenants user cards when they need to use the meeting rooms.

Paul Carr – SALTO Systems’ northern area sales manager – adds: “On this project, we worked closely with design consultancy Advanced Security Partners as well as Saturn Architectural to ensure the finished installation fully achieved the client’s brief. Having an access control system that’s secure, reliable and dependable is a high priority for Key’s Business Village. The flexibility of the new access arrangements means that businesses on site can realise the maximum benefit from the technology while providing a comfortable and secure environment for all users.”
