Bell Security’s fire division gets certified

Fire UK was certified LPS1014-compliant by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), which is owned by audit group BRE.

Bell Security said that achieving certified status was part of a wider plan to expand its portfolio of major customers across the UK.

The company’s business support manager, Lee Merryweather, said, “Adding LPS1014, and therefore now holding dual, third-party certification of our operations, is a major credibility enhancement for us in the marketplace.

“In the light of the 2006 fire safety legislation, the customer confidence this provides will be a key business driver.”

The LPCB sets out requirements for companies which design, install, commission and service fire detection and alarm systems. The certification process involves inspections of installations as well as checks on staff and training procedures.

Fire UK, which already holds the BAFE/NSI Fire Gold accreditation, recently secured project contracts in the academic, commercial and industrial sectors.
