Following a highly successful presence at IFSEC 2008, and a general – and ongoing – increase in membership enquiries, the Association now represents 268 member companies who operate out of 297 locations across the United Kingdom.
Head of the FSA, Stefan Hay, told SMT: “We are naturally elated by the fact that the FSA is such a thriving organisation in only 18 months. The marketplace in which our membership is operating has become so much more than just alarms. Now it’s about a robust, high-tech world of integrated building management systems and IP networked solutions, and we’re pleased that so many more professional systems companies are working under the FSA banner to grasp the opportunities on offer and make the environments in which we work and live that much safer.”
The FSA believes that its success can be attributed to the fact that it is solely systems sector-focused, and truly driven by its members through an industry-led Board and Technical Committee structure.
Hay added: “At a time when certain technology-based solutions, such as CCTV systems, have received very undeserved bad press, we are keen to demonstrate that our third party certificated companies with design, installation, commissioning and maintenance capabilities can offer a tangible difference to end users.”
