The Fire and Security Association (FSA) has joined forces with Scotland’s trade association for the electrical, electronics and communications systems industry, SELECT, so that FSA’s membership has now risen to more than 200 firms – around 100 security specialists and over 100 fire specialists.
Steve Kimber, Chairman of the FSA says: “We see this is an extremely positive development for the associations. Electronic fire and security installers face an increasingly challenging business environment, characterised by rapid technical change and greater regulation. Our members are part of the wider electro-technical industry, and we believe that working together with SELECT will help ensure that the whole industry is well equipped to meet the challenges ahead.”
The FSA says the venture will allow members in fire and security to reap business benefits by demonstrating their expertise and commitment to standards. It will also help the FSA in developing a suitable national system of qualifications and training for those in the electronic fire and security systems industry.
