Fire damages world famous Berlin concert hall

[

A fire which broke at the concert hall which is the home of the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra has been extinguished, after around 300 musicians and others in the building were evacuated yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.

The blaze started on the roof where welding was being carried out and investigators were considering this as a possible cause. No one was hurt in the fire, though concerts for the next 10 days have had to be relocated to other venues in the German capital.

It is not yet known when the orchestra can resume playing at the venue and there are reports that the damage may cost millions of Euros to repair.
