System Sensor launch FAAST: IP-enabled aspiration detectors

FAAST by System SensorSystem Sensor Europe has introduced FAAST – an early warning aspiration system.

The FAAST system is likely to be used in data centres and IT/telecoms firms. Overheating cables are a major source of problems, says System Sensor, and FAAST will give IT managers time to transfer data from affected servers, maintaining operational uptime.

FAAST includes a number of hardware and software features:

  • IP connectivity, which enables remote monitoring and management over the internet by direct integration into local and wide area networks.
  • Use of the system sensor digital advanced protocol to communicate with the fire control panel, which enables detectors to be integrated into a fire system.
  • Super sensitive detection of 0.0015%/m (0.00046%/ft).
  • Multi-angle and multi-wavelength optics and complex algorithms to differentiate combustible particles from dust particles.
  • Three-stage filtration.

The features mean FAAST can be used in large open spaces such as airport concourses, says System Sensor, and for environments where hot or cold temperature extremes, or poor air quality, are present.
