Police are looking for witnesses after firefighter uniforms were stolen from a retained fire station in Tring, Hertfordshire.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 8 September and 15 September, when the offender(s) are believed to have forced their way into the building.
They took a number of uniforms before leaving.
Investigating officer, PC Barry Eldridge, urged residents to exercise caution if anyone purporting to be a firefighter visits unannounced.
“This could of course be a genuine house call from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue, but be sure to check their ID or call their local station for confirmation of their visit, if you are unsure in any way. A genuine firefighter will understand your concern and will be happy for you to undertake these checks.”
