Following terror attacks in Brussels and Paris and with the media warning of threats to the Rio Olympics and Euro 2016, security in crowded places has climbed the agenda of governments and their security services.
Taking this theme, Members of the Major Events Network will deliver a thought leadership presentation looking at the lifecycle of different risks to ‘crowded places’ such as shopping malls, train stations, stadia etc at this year’s IFSEC International Expo at London ExCeL on 22 June.
In the End User Theatre on the second day of the expo a panel of experts with experience of securing major events such as the London Olympic Games will cover a range of safety and security topics including crowd control complexities, cyber security and the threat posed by CBRN (chemical, biological radiological and nuclear).
Speakers will include Andrew Amery of R3S Global and Christopher Aldous of Design Security.
Dennis Mills, Chairman of the Major Events Network, says: “We’re glad to be delivering this thought leadership presentation on security in crowded places at IFSEC. MEI Members have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to securing all aspects of crowded places and speaking at IFSEC is a brilliant platform to share this experience.”
Said Claudia Whitcombe, Senior Marketing Manager from UBM, which organises IFSEC: “This presentation on crowded places is highly relevant for those attending IFSEC. It will make a fantastic addition to our content-rich conference programme.”
