Tenders now being accepted for Olympic guarding contract

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) wants to hear from organisations that can protect the site while it is being built and during the ‘legacy transformation’ stage.

It is possible that the same contractor would provide guarding services throughout the Games.

The successful company will be responsible for:

– perimeter protection;
– operation of access/exit control process;
– internal security patrols;
– monitoring of CCTV and alarms;
– screening activities at logistics centres on the M11 and A13;
– management of the ODA supplied security equipment; and
– supply and operation of accommodation and welfare facilities.

The contractor will provide the guarding service using technology and physical security measures provided by the ODA. Security within the site boundary of the venues being constructed on the Olympic Park will be the responsibility of the tier one construction contractors.

The deadline for receipt of expressions of interest is 5.00pm on Monday, 17th December 2007.

For full details, see the prequalification questionnaire (PQQ) documentation on the ODA’s eTendering website.
