News of the training partnership emerges after staff from The Shield Guarding Company participated in this development programme, which consists of work-based learning embedded within the Level 2 Certificate for The Security Practitioner.

Staff development: central to business goals

Based on the Shawfarm Industrial Estate in Prestwick, WSG was formed in 2001. The company has grown rapidly to become one of the leaders in UK security training, and boasts a consistent presence at the Skills for Security National Training Conference.
The company’s founder, Stuart Galloway, boasts a military background (having served with the Royal Military Police) and has been involved with the security guarinuarding industry since 1987.
Stuart’s experience has been gained within operations, sales and training. Prior to the formation of WSG Associates, he was instrumental in developing regional security guarding companies, and has held a number of senior management positions on a national and international basis.
The Shield Guarding Company was formed in January 1987 and was one of the first to receive Approved Contractor Scheme acceptance from the Security Industry Authority.
