With over 40 years experience in security systems, the Bosch quality has been proved in their previous surveillance products – now with the introduction of a complete portfolio of HD solutions in India, Bosch Security is addressing the growing demand for HD systems in the network (IP) security market and taking image quality “from scene to screen” to the next level.
India security market is now taking off and the business for Bosch Security is growing at a good pace at the rate 30-35 per cent. Under its security business, it offers video systems and access controls, apart from communications business with the public address, professional sound and critical communications systems. So, a whole range of products are covered by Bosch Security in India including safety products where it mainly covers fire.
According to Ajay Sahney, general manager and country head, Bosch Security System, “We have launched complete HD solutions ‘from scene to screen’ – including cameras, software and HD LCD screens. This launch reiterates our commitment to being an innovative, customer-oriented, and global supplier of security, safety and communication products and systems.”
With this, the existing range of video surveillance products portfolio from Bosch has been further strengthened. These products would be available in the market with immediate effect.
“We are now focussing a lot at Asia market and India particularly. India is one of the key markets for Bosch. The demand from India has been good and increasing particularly from government sector and we cover the verticals of defence and industry very well, apart from transport as well. The demand from these areas are growing at a double-digit pace. And therefore, the focus on these areas will be more,” added Sahney.
Currently, the company has cameras to recording solutions — both for analog and IP. India has been a more analog specific until the recent past and Bosch Security sees a transition from analog to IP happening in different verticals. According to Sahney, “Where Bosch makes a difference is the software solutions which cater to HD and SD at the same time. We see a shift happening. Maybe, till a few years back, it would have been around 70 per cent analog and the rest IP. But now, the shift is more towards IP because the government is investing in verticals such as defence, transport, etc. Importantly, the customer is now more well educated about the security solutions and understands the requirements of IP.”
The industry is also witnessing a lot of IT companies such as Mindtree, Wipro, IBM looking at security systems portfolio seriously.
Bosch Security has not only introduced cameras but also complete end-to-end solutions – software, storage, analysers, monitors, etc. “So we have the chain of products to cater to the customers requirements,” he added.
Per Johansson, senior product marketing manager, Asia Pacific, Bosch Security Systems said, “The first component of the solution is the HD camera. We are bringing our extensive imaging experience into these cameras, enabling us to reach the next level in image resolution. In addition, we have a recording solution, management solution, and viewing solution that fulfils the complete surveillance requirement.”
“We are focussing on airports, sea ports, railways and city surveillance. We will also move into IT, hospitality, and corporates. City surveillance is a very growing market and an important one for us,” added Sahney.
