Tyco Security Products, a business unit of Tyco International, is ramping up its India operations. The company, which has a Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, is raising its headcount to close to 100, said a senior official who was on a visit to IFSEC South India 2011.
Tyco is looking at building product and system integration capabilities in India and hence focussing on growth in the region.
The $7-billion company operates in 60 countries and earns 40-45% of its revenues from the US and the remaining comes from the rest of the world. It estimated the market to be worth $1.3 billion by 2011 end. “With this in mind, we are focussing on India in a big way. The increase of India resources is a step in that direction,” said David Grinstead, VP, Worldwife Sales, Tyco Security Products.
“We are seeing a huge opportunity in India and in that sense we are strongly looking at segments such as Infrastructure, Retail, Hospitality, Defence & Military, Airports, etc.,” said John Becker, Director of Sales, Asia, Tyco Security Products.
“The Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru is significantly contributing to the development of our products.
