Introducing: I4S India

Observant readers will have noticed that the I4S India channel has been up and running for a little while now.

The channel aims to provide daily news for the security and associated sectors, and will work closely with the IFSEC India exhibition – which has already proven successful in 2007 and 2008 – to educate and inform the Indian industry, and provide opportunities for networking and investing in the thriving market on the sub-continent. Its stated aim is to be the number one resource for the Indian security industry.

I4S India is helmed by dedicated and experienced editor Verghese V Joseph. Based in Bangalore, he has nearly fifteen years of editorial experience and has been part of the editorial team in various capacities in organisations such as The Times of India, ITspace.com, The Economic Times, The Financial Express and Lokmat Times. He also headed the Industrial Economist, a fortnightly magazine, as its Executive Editor.

Verghese will be updating news on a daily basis, and shortly will be launching a weekly newsletter pointing out the news highlights for busy readers.

A new home for Indian security news
As you may have noticed, I4S India joins SMT Online and our Security Installation and IFSEC channels on the info4security.com home page.

The channel sections will continue to be populated with news as it grows over coming weeks and months. If you have security news releases or information that you think should be reported – as well as details of new product releases for the Indian market – contact Verghese direct. Email him at verghesej@ubmindia.com, or call +91 (80) 4147 6031.

As well as its news and features content, the I4S India channel provides a direct route for advertisers to target readers explicitly interested in those issues directly affecting the Indian security sector. Those interested in advertising should contact – India: Nigel Brown – nigelb@ubmindia.com, +91 11 2376 5554 ; UK/International: Jonathan Collins – jonathan.collins@ubm.com, +44 (0)20 7921 8409, or Samuel Mitcham – samuel.mitcham@ubm.com, +44 (0)20 7921 8284.

It’s an exciting development. Feel free to get involved.
