SonicWALL, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent network security and data protection solutions, on Tuesday launched the industry’s first next-generation security platform and technology in India. It is capable of detecting and controlling applications, preventing intrusions, and blocking malware at up to 40 Gbps without introducing latency to the network. SuperMassive E10000 Series of Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), consisting of the E10100, the E10200, the E10400 and the flagship E10800, was launched in Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai.
The SuperMassive Series, which features a massively scalable multi-core architecture that utilizes up to 96 cores of processing power, will revolutionizes the network security market. It delivers more than 40 Gbps of firewall throughput and over 30 Gbps of application control and Intrusion Prevention Service (IPS) with industry-leading power, space and cooling (PSC) metrics.
Commenting on the occasion Richard Ting, vice president, SonicWALL said, “SuperMassive makes next-generation security a reality for even the largest and highest performance networks delivering full application control and content security that eliminates threats entering the network. It will address the ever increasing security needs of enterprises, governments, universities, and service provider deployments and secure enterprise networks, data centers and server farms.”
The SuperMassive E10000 Series utilizes SonicWALL’s reassembly-free deep packet inspection (RFDPI) engine to scan every byte of every packet with full content inspection of the entire stream while providing high performance and low latency. The RFDPI engine also ensures full inspection of SSL-encrypted traffic as well as non-proxy- able applications. It enables comprehensive protection regardless of transport or protocol.
“The SuperMassive Series is a milestone not just in SonicWALL’s history, but the network security market across the globe. At present less than 1% of corporate networks are secured using next-generation firewalls and we see a huge potential here. The SuperMassive Series is designed to allow organizations to embrace these technologies in order to enhance workforce productivity, business collaboration and effectiveness without compromising performance or security,” said Shubhomoy Biswas, country director, SonicWALL India.
Series Lineup
The SuperMassive E10100 is the first in the series of massively scalable NGFW products launched by SonicWALL. It features 12 processing cores with 12 additional cores in integrated high availability mode. The device is capable of delivering full deep packet inspection with application intelligence and intrusion prevention at 3 Gbps.
The SonicWALL SuperMassive E10200 utilizes 24 processing cores and delivers 7.5 Gbps of application control and IPS. The SuperMassive E10400 is powered by 48 processing cores, offering 15 Gbps of application control and IPS. The SonicWALL SuperMassive E10800 is the flagship model of the SuperMassive Series and features 96 cores for maximum performance and throughput.
The E10800 is the industry’s only next-generation firewall capable of visualization and control of thousands of applications with simultaneous intrusion prevention while providing up to 30 Gbps of ultra-low latency throughput over any combination of 6×10-GbE SFP+ and 16×1-GbE SFP ports. The SuperMassive E10800 also delivers more than 10 Gbps of anti-malware protection against more than 4 million unique malware variants.
Each model of the SonicWALL SuperMassive E10000 Series is upgradeable, future-proofing security infrastructure investments as network bandwidth and security requirements increase.
For even larger bandwidth requirements, the SuperMassive Series enables clustering up to eight systems delivering an industry-leading combination of performance, security, and operational resilience. A SuperMassive Active-Active cluster deployment is suited for today’s most demanding networking environments, providing up to 120 Gbps of simultaneous next-generation firewall, application control and intrusion prevention, and up to 60 Gbps of anti-malware protection from millions of malware variants.
