21-year-old Roddis has always been interested in electronics, and pursued an apprenticeship with Chubb Electronic Security as soon as he left school. It’s fair to say that the young Roddis wanted to ‘make a difference’ in his chosen industry.
Today, Liam is an integral part of the company’s Sheffield team. His drive, determination, work ethic and maturity have all been described as characteristics which set him above his peers. They’re traits of which he ought to be – and is – very proud.
Roddis demonstrates huge amounts of initiative, offers excellent customer service and fully understands the requirements of his role, working to meet all of them to the best of his ability.
Liam was nominated for this award for all of the hard work and consistently excellent performance he has demonstrated throughout his apprenticeship. The company is proud of him, and rightly so.
Commenting on Roddis as overall winner and the performance of the second national winner Chris Tinsley (more of whom anon), BSIA chief executive John Bates told info4security: “Each year, our winning apprentices amply demonstrate the commitment they’re already making towards a successful career within the security industry. The BSIA is very proud to acknowledge the contribution these apprentices make so early on in their careers to continue the high standards of the industry. This year’s winners should be justifiably proud of their achievements.”
Continued dedication and enthusiasm
20-year-old Chris Tinsley was nominated by Tensor plc for the continued dedication and enthusiasm he shows to all jobs that are given to him. Chris is said to have grasped the technical side of the equipment he works with so well that he has taken to security installation like a duck to water.
Indeed, it’s already the case that he’s providing training and/or advice on products to other engineers who are not as familiar with them as he is!
Tinsley is said to be a highly valued member of the Tensor team who excels with his positive attitude, logical thinking and a desire to perform his role to the very highest possible standards at all times. Chris exhibits a keenness to learn new skills on both the installation and maintenance side of his work.
Roddis and Tinsley were presented with their prizes at yesterday’s BSIA Annual Luncheon – held at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane in London – by the Admiral the Lord West of Spithead (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Home Office with responsibility for security and counter-terrorism).
SMT Online, info4security and Security Installer would like to congratulate both apprentices on their tremendous efforts.
