Gardiner enters EAS market as installers show interest in retail

Gardiner will now market the Xpress Nuda range of RF tagging systems which uses RF technology to give significant savings to retailers, plus a strong visual deterrent to shoplifters. Systems comprise a transmitter, receiver and a tuned circuit (in the tag), the field round the pillars being detuned when a tag enters it and sets off the alarm. There is a choice of entry level single pillar systems for the smaller retailer and dual pillar systems for larger stores, all in brushed aluminium.

“From talking to our customers, there is growing interest in being able to install electronic article surveillance systems for shops and stores,” says Gardiner security’s Access product manager Glenn Davies. “These systems open the door for them to meet the needs of retailers from the smallest upwards.”

Compact and aesthetic, they are said to be ideal for installing in reception areas. EN-54 Part 2 & 4 compliant and incorporating safety and features, the fully functional 448 panels control four zones, expandable to eight, with a two zone panel also available.

It has four sounder circuits expandable to eight, up to three remote keypads, class change, non latch zone option, and zone isolate and relay isolate capability.

Noby UK technical director Steve Broadbent said: “We have had success in Scandinavia and Germany with these products and wanted to penetrate the UK Fire market.”
