UBM and Total Security Installations work with HSK to improve educational opportunities for Kenyan students

TSI has donated a range of safes to help keep Kekopey secondary school’s assets and equipment secure as part of UBM’s project to deliver monetary donations and goods to Kenyan schools.

Kekopey is an area close to a busy highway that badly needs an affordable secondary school to cater to the very large numbers of pupils in the area who are leaving primary school with no school to move on to.

An impressive GB pound 60,000 has already been raised to start the construction of Kekopey secondary school. The local community has already constructed some temporary buildings, but work must begin soon on the permanent school buildings and fit out of the interior.

Peter Terry, managing director at Total Security Installations, said: “We are delighted to support such a worthy cause and commend the work of HSK and all those who are contributing to the project.”

Money and goods for five schools
Mirabelle Chatterjee, group operations director at UBM, said: “Together with the support and generosity of our clients and suppliers, UBM has already received donations of both money and goods for five of the schools in the project area.

“The equipment ranges from sports and music equipment and clothing, to furniture and basic facilities. We are thrilled to have Total Security Installations involved in the project.”

Mirabelle Chatterjee and her colleague Amie Willenberg, a trustee of HSK and an events marketing manager from UBM, are planning to go out to Kenya for two weeks (5-16 December 2011) to supervise the delivery and installation of all of the equipment shipped over and to arrange the collection and delivery of all furniture being made in Nairobi.
