The move is in line with the company’s Single Source Purchasing philosophy. A new Intruder Products catalogue is to be published, featuring lines from the sector’s leading manufacturers.
Managing director Dermot Grace forecast that Norbain would in time become “the UK’s premier destination for intruder detection equipment”. The decision was consistent with wider changes in the security industry.
He explained: “As integration between different aspects of security grows and the skills base within the installer community widens, we believe the benefits of this announcement will be recognised by installers who are eager to take advantage of new opportunities to reduce costs, protect margins and ease logistical pressures on site. No other distributor in any sector of the security industry can match Norbain’s commitment to product delivery and service excellence.”
David Kelly, formerly at C&K Systems and Rainbow CCTV, has been appointed Divisional Director of Intruder Products. He commented: “It makes a great deal of sense for Norbain to extend its remit in this way as Norbain’s level of service far outweighs anything else available in the intruder products sector.
“Sales, service and technical support are all in place to ensure the new division is a success.”
* Norbain SD has introduced a Long Service Award programme. Staff members who have worked for the company for between 10 and 30 years plus will receive additional rewards in recognition of the part they have played in the company’s success. Human resources director Victoria Bori said Norbain’s research had shown that customers placed great value on staff continuity.
