It’s fair to say that in what’s now a fast-moving security sector where customer requirements often change at short notice, the essential requirement is for protective solutions that are versatile and may be deployed on a rapid basis.
The European-manufactured, CE-certified Xumo3 from Interconnective Security Products addresses those very requirements.
This is a portable solution for alarm, data and image transfer applications encompassing both indoor and outdoor applications. The Xumo3 combines the latest alarm, surveillance and mobile technologies into a single unit, and is capable of recording and transmitting live and still images to either smart phones or computers.
In addition, the Xumo3 harbours the functionality to operate as a network camera transmitting over wired or wireless (WiFi) networks. As such, it’s likely to become a key element of the keyholding and patrol drivers’ armoury.

Focusing on smart security solutions
In fact, the Xumo3 represents Interconnective’s third smart product to be launched in 2012, with two “exciting” smart products set to follow in September and October.
Those other smart products launched to date in 2012 have inclued the Vigilant-i real time video analytic software software and the Adams metal detector complete with proximity sensing.
The Vigilant-i software automatically identifies salient events in a real time video stream, guiding an active camera to record such events in high resolution. This allows the operator to determine whether each event presented requires further scrutiny and subsequent action.
As a result, this solution provides security and safety teams with real time information allowing proactive decisions to be made which could prevent injury and/or loss of life.
New concept in hand-held metal detectors
The Adams metal detector with proximity sensing is a new concept in hand-held metal detectors. Its technology and performance is primarily designed for general search applications (for instance frontline security, airport security and at high throughput public events, etc).
The addition of a proximity sensor allows the user (and supervisors) the ability to continuously observe – by means of a blue indicator LED – that the detector is at the correct distance from the subject being screened. This enables the metal detection sensor technology to detect all required items on the person.
