The royal guest visited the event in his role as Patron of the Association’s Export Council in order to gain an insight into the work of the Council and, at the same time, meet with some of the BSIA’s members and overseas buyers from countries including Canada, the Netherlands, Argentina, Portugal, Kenya, the Lebanon, Bulgaria, Nigeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Vietnam.
Commenting on the event, Chris Pinder – the BSIA’s export manager – told SMT Online: “We were delighted to welcome HRH Prince Michael of Kent to this year’s IFSEC Exhibition. His presence and role as our Patron demonstrates the important contribution that UK security companies make to the British economy. It also ensured a unique and memorable experience for the overseas buyers in attendance.”
Meetings with potential UK suppliers
The BSIA’s Meet The Buyers event was held for the third consecutive year at IFSEC, and provides overseas visitors with the chance to meet potential suppliers through a series of face-to-face private sales meetings. It’s an excellent opportunity for UK security solutions providers to market themselves.
This year’s Meet The Buyers event saw 120 buyers and commercial officers attending from countries around the world.
