IndigoVision joins Onvif and PSIA

A statement from IndigoVision said it will be “active members of both organisations and will be involved with the development of the standards.”

Onvif is an open industry forum for the development of a global standard for the interface of network video products and is committed to the adoption of network video in the security market. It is spearheaded by Axis, Bosch and Sony. The Onvif specification aims to ensure interoperability between network video products regardless of manufacturer.

“We are happy to welcome IndigoVision as a full member of the forum,” said Onvif steering committee member Dieter Joecker.

“Their experience within IP video solutions will be beneficial for the continuous development of the Onvif specification. The increasing number of members shows that there is a great need for an open global standard for the interface of network video products.”

The PSIA was founded in February of 2008 with the objective of promoting the interoperability of IP-enabled security devices. Participating companies include leaders in the security camera, video management software, access control, system integrator segments of the market.

The IndigoVision statement said that is keen to help develop standards in the integration of CCTV with third-party security systems using IP networks.

David Bunzel, executive director of the PSIA, said: “IndigoVision’s strong presence in the IP video market will be a great asset to the PSIA. We are very pleased to welcome them as a member of the organisation.”
