Fighting crime in the fast lane

Security specialist ADT Fire and Security is helping the fight against crime in the Midlands by sponsoring two vans for use by the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire police forces.
The Vauxhall Astra Estate vans will patrol the regions, helping to ensure that business leaders, local communities and would-be criminals are fully aware of the steps being taken to combat crime in both counties.
Speaking about the initiative, Assistant Chief Constable Robin Searle of the Nottinghamshire force told SMT: "The police and private security sector must work together to tackle local issues of crime and disorder in the community. This initiative will give a much-needed boost to ‘beat officers’ who play a vital role by way of high visibility patrolling."
