Fool proof security including access-controlled passenger entry, baggage scanning, CCTV cameras and other surveillance measures will be put in place at all metro stations, Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) managing director NVS Reddy said.
In this connection a coordination committee, comprising representatives from Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates, HMR and LTMRHL has been formed. The panel will finalise security arrangements, establish police stations, and set up additional forces to tackle crimes related to HMR, Cyberabad commissioner CV Anand said.
HMR officials held a meeting on the security plan for the Metro Rail with CV Anand and other top police officials, security experts, L&T officials at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. Issues like parking and circulation areas, viaduct and track, trains, depot areas and others were discussed at the meeting. Even security arrangements at Metro stations in cities like Delhi and Bangalore were also discussed.
“Passenger security will be our top priority,” NVS Reddy said and added that it would be ensured through access-control mechanisms, CCTVs and other similar measures. “Frisking of passengers at concourse gates and installation of intrusion detection systems will also be done,” he added.
Security arrangements are being finalised in consultation with the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police with guidance from the Union ministry of home affairs. The final requirements will soon be worked out. (Source: Security Today)

Additional Commissioner of Police, (Crimes and SIT), Sandeep Sandilya; Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Anjani Kumar; Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), Gangadhar; LTMRHL Project Director, MP Naidu; Head of Civil Systems Anil Kumar Saini and other senior government officials of Cyberabad and Hyderabad attended the meeting.
