Following registration (which begins at 9.30 am), the day’s proceedings kick off at 10.00 am with some introductions from both the ASC’s chairman Colin Braziel and Nedap representative Daryn Flynn.
The first speaker of the day, who takes to the podium at 10.10 am, is Nick Burrows of Telindus. The theme of Nick’s presentation is ‘Securing the New Workplace: Extending the Security Boundary to Reflect Mobile and Remote Working Practices’. How are changing work practices affecting the security manager’s domain? What of physical security beyond the built environment? Nick will tackle these questions and many more.
Nick has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years, starting his career as a server support engineer and trainer for Compaq computers. Moving to Telindus (UK) in 1999, Nick re-focused his career to the delivery of network infrastructure and, in particular, the delivery of ATM and IP networks to a number of customers. Notable projects as lead engineer during this time include the London Underground ‘Connect’ and Westminster Wireless CCTV projects.
Since moving into product management, Nick has been responsible for the development of innovative new technology sets for connected real estate and platform intelligence. Through his work in the application of integrated technologies to real business issues, Nick is helping Telindus shape the next generation of real estate systems integration services. Risk mitigation is a key component in the Telindus Integrated Services for the Built Environment solution set which includes CCTV, access control, digital security and mobile device risk management services.
As a network architect, Telindus (UK) has a thorough understanding of real-time networked applications and extensive experience of the issues associated with delivering live applications over an IP infrastructure. Delivering effective solutions to both enterprise and public sector organisations that are underpinned by management and support services, Telindus is supported through strong partner relationships in 30 countries and operates out of offices in 15 countries across Europe and the Far East.
