200-tonne domestic waste blaze

Firefighters have been tackling a domestic waste blaze in an open-sided barn at a site in Basingstoke.

Around 30 firefighters attended the incident involving 200 tonnes of domestic waste at Basingstoke Skip Hire. Crews used two mechanical diggers to help create a fire break.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called shortly before 4.00am on 28 June and the incident was over just after midday.
