Accredited MITIE TSM Diploma programme welcomes first class security professionals

Accredited by Middlesex University, the aim of the new Diploma is to train MITIE’s security managers and put learning into practice to enhance the Total Security Management division of the plc business.

The two-year professional development programme is accredited equivalent to an academic Level 4 qualification, covering security, business risk and security risk management.

The programme is exclusive to the FTSE strategic outsourcing and energy services company, and draws on exceptional managers in the Total Security Management business throughout the UK: from response, systems, aviation and account management through to the sales teams.

Bob Forsyth, the managing director for MITIE’s Total Security Management business, said: “The Diploma in Total Security Management is a giant step forward for MITIE and for the security industry as a whole. We’re fully committed to developing the field of security management as a skilled profession to best protect our clients and their assets.”

He added: “Our people are our greatest asset, and we’re extremely pleased to offer our security managers this unique opportunity for their career development.”

The minimum requirements for the Diploma are at least 30-36 hours of prior learning, 14 days of classroom training and approximately 250 hours of home-based learning.

At the end of each completed programme, MITIE will fully fund three exemplary students to continue their studies toward a Certificate in Higher Education, a university qualification requiring an additional 40 academic credits at Level 4.

This year, MITIE Total Security Management will take nominations from across the business.

The programme of learning will begin on 26 October.
