ADT separates from Tyco in north America

Tyco – now claimed to be the world’s largest dedicated fire protection and security company with more than $10bn in revenues – designs, manufactures, installs and services fire protection and security solutions. This includes fire detection and suppression, intrusion, video surveillance, access control, retail security solutions and personal protective equipment as well as monitoring, maintenance and service.

Tyco’s security products business includes brands such as American Dynamics, Software House, Kantech, DSC, CEM, Bentel, and Visonic.

Meanwhile, the ADT Corporation is a leader in the electronic security, interactive home and business automation and alarm monitoring services industry in the U.S. and Canada, with revenues of $3.1bn in 2011.
