Advance Fire Fighting Technology has launched an Air-Propelled Modular firefighting system. The central technology combines watermist (water droplets distributed over a wide surface area) with Compress Air Foam Systems (CAFS), so optimising the use of water at low pressure.
The system is described as a very powerful and versatile mobile firefighting tool, based on a number of improvements to conventional firefighting technology. It is a logical extension of proven portable and mobile technology to be installed on new fire trucks, explains the company.
The modular structure of the APM consists of one or more 50 litre tanks for the extinguishing agent water, a separate tank for the foam concentrate, an equivalent number of compressed air-bottles and a 30m rigid co-axial hose on a stainless steel hose reel. All components are mounted into a frame for immediate installation. Being strictly air-propelled so not requiring electrical controls, the APM is suitable for areas where explosion-proof equipment is needed.
