There are currently 550 cameras in operation across the Borough, with continual additions and improvements being made.
The Control Room boasts an impressive wall of rear screen projection units along with individual Samsung and Bosch flat screen monitors.
The Pelco cameras have been positioned on poles that afford operators a 360-degree panorama of the areas being monitored. Each of the columns is within view of another, thus generating overlapped coverage.
Dome cameras were initially trialled on the project, but blind spots were a serious issue.
