Ames joined guarding specialist Axis Security as its commercial manager back in December 2007. He boasts over 19 years’ experience in the guarding industry, having started as contract manager for Security Express at London’s Southbank Centre in 1990.
In 1995, Neil joined First Security in the role of operations manager before moving into the Sales Department in 1998.
In his two years at Axis, Ames has contributed to the success of the business, and helped shape the strategic direction of the company.
“As the company continues to grow, this new role of commercial director will build on my previous experience,” explained Ames in conversation with SMT Online. “I will now be responsible for all sales and marketing activity in London, directing a team of commercial managers and looking after sales support personnel.”
Extensive knowledge of guarding in London
Ames has extensive knowledge of the London marketplace where Axis Security operates, and understands the requirements and expectations of blue chip companies demanding a high quality guarding service in the Capital.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to help expand the business yet further, and look forward to the challenges the new role will bring,” he concluded.
Commenting on the appointment, Jonathan Levine – Axis Security’s well-known and popular managing director – told SMT Online: “Axis Security has gone from strength to strength since December 2007, and Neil has played a crucial role in our growth.”
Levine added: “While the recent merger with Temple Security follows demand from Axis Security’s London and City-based clients to deliver the same quality of service to regional offices, London and the City remains a key area of focus for us. With Neil’s knowledge and experience in the London marketplace, his appointment will help continue this focus and growth.”
