Responsiveness to the customer will be demonstrated by Apollo Fire Detectors Limited at this year’s International Fire Expo. The company, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary during the event, will display a number of ancillary devices that it has introduced since Fire Expo 2003 to meet market requirements. These include a loop-powered beacon, an intelligent reflective beam detector and a new integrated base sounder.
Apollo’s six distinct ranges of conventional and intelligent fire detectors will also be on show, led by the Orbis range of conventional fire detectors which have just received certification under the Marine Equipment Directive (MED).
Apollo introduced the Loop-powered Beacon last year to help consultants and specifiers fulfil legal obligations under the UK Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). Apollo’s loop-powered beacon is based on a detector casing and features a wide angle of visibility. Its use of LEDs instead of xenon is claimed to make it highly reliable.
In response to customer demand Apollo recently introduced a choice of colours, adding an amber version and a clear lens with red LEDs to the original red beacon.
The beacon is compatible with Apollo’s XP95 and Discovery ranges of intelligent fire detectors and uses the same XPERT address system. It can be used either as a stand-alone device, or as a combination sounder/beacon.
The Intelligent Reflective Beam Detector for the protection of large open areas will also be on display.
