Securicor Cash Services has appointed Simon Presswell as sales director. Simon will be responsible for leading the development and evolution of the Relationship Management, New Business Sales, Customer Service and Commercial Teams. Simon was previously sales director at Cendant Corporation.
Following a year of organic growth in 2004, Securiplan has developed its corporate operations division and chosen a new team to manage its corporate accounts. Roy Peck joins from Reliance Security Services, where he was a key accounts and then national accounts manager. As regional operations director, Roy will look after the company’s southern-based blue chip client list. Managing operations in the Midlands, north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland is Harry Robinson. Chris Palmer has also been promoted to national projects director, with responsibility for implementing Securiplan’s major national contracts.
Access control solutions specialist Bewator has appointed Phil Redcliffe as sales manager for Bewator International. Reporting directly to the company’s vice-president Gavin Archery, Phil will now manage sales of all Bewator products outside of the Nordic countries, the UK, Benelux region and Germany. In the short term, he will continue to be involved with the product management of Cotag reading technology.
Bosch Security Systems has appointed Clive Billett as regional area sales manager for the North East and Scotland. Clive brings 18 years’ experience to his new role, having previously worked at Sensormatic, Balfour Kilpatrick and Plettac Security. Clive joins at a time when the company is expanding to encompass integrated security and safety solutions for a wider range of end user applications (including sports arenas, casinos, hotels and retail outlets).
Simon Burland is the new vice-president of strategic business solutions at StreamShield Networks – the real-time, high performance Internet content security solutions provider. Burland’s specific task is to develop relationships with major network equipment and content security vendors. In the past, Simon has worked at Cisco, Xylan, UB Networks and Spectralink.
Kaba (UK) is delighted to welcome Malcolm Burton to its access control team. Malcolm has specific responsibility for developing the Simplex locking systems side of the business (including the new 5000 Series mechanical lock range and the e-plex range of push-button locks). Malcolm’s main focus will be on creating a qualified dealer network.
Initial Electronic Security’s managing director Clive Hayton (pictured) has set in motion a series of significant management appointments at the company, not least of which is Derek Ward’s move into the role of sales and marketing director. Most recently, Derek has been working in management consultancy and interim management positions, prior
to which he was sales director at ADT Fire and Security. Derek is joined as a new appointee by marketing manager Paul Hughes and the company’s new national fire sales manager, Neil Shirley.
In line with recent organisational changes, leading digital surveillance equipment manufacturer Visimetrics (UK) has appointed Roger Gowing as area sales manager for the south. Leading the team is UK sales manager Tim Wood. Douglas Walsh is now technical sales executive for Scotland and Ireland. James Rigg will continue to cover sales for the north of England in his role as area sales manager (north).
Firstsight Vision – one of the leading UK suppliers of industrial vision components – has confirmed its intention to become a major supplier of specialist security and defence video components with the appointment of Steve Hearn as business development manager. Steve was formerly European business manager with Sony. At the same time, the company has introduced Version 2.50 of its hugely successful iGuard digital video recorders. Current clients include the major blue chips, Government departments and numerous transport organisations.
Thor Technologies – specialist provider of identity management software that automates corporate compliance and reduces security risks – has expanded operations at its UK headquarters by way of responding to increased demand for its products overseas. John Handelaar slots in to the role of European business development director. Handelaar is responsible for sales in Europe, as well as establishing (and then maintaining) relationships with resellers and CSI partners. To reflect the growing global demand for secure identity management solutions, Michael Burling’s role has been expanded from managing director (EMEA) to vice-president responsible for international sales.
Vogon International has appointed Vaughan Thompson as technical development director. Based at the company’s Bicester headquarters, Vaughan assumes responsibility for running Vogon’s rapidly expanding Consultancy Services Division (which assists commercial and Government agencies with the investigation and handling of computer-related fraud, abuse and e-mail misuse).
Global video network concern COE’s new head of engineering is Mike Higlett. Mike joined the company in 1998 and, two years later, assumed responsibility for the 2M MPEG-2 Codec for the NEC project in Singapore. In 2002, he became an engineering development team leader, overseeing most hardware developments in the department, and was also responsible for the introduction of COE’s X-class video Codec.
Connexion2 – the Sheffield-based manufacturer of the highly-acclaimed Identicom lone worker protection device – has appointed Chris Allard as business development manager. Chris will be responsible for working with the company’s many existing channel partners to maximise penetration of the Identicom product in its key market sectors, which encompass healthcare, transportation and security.
