G4S Security Services (UK) has appointed Vassilios Konstantinidis former director of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games Security Division – as an advisor to the Board. Konstantinidis has been brought on board to assist the company in securing contracts for current and future international sporting events, such as Vancouver 2010, London 2012 and Sochi 2014.

Leading recruitment specialist Momentum Security has appointed Graham Bassett as commercial director. Graham has worked in the security recruitment market for 18 years, the last 11 of them as a sales director at SSR Personnel Services. He was instrumental in developing the respected Recruitment Code of Ethics.

Former operations director Paul Spiteri has been appointed managing director at Lodge Service (Guarding), although he will continue to be responsible for EMPS, the Screening and Vetting Division and UK sales. Spiteri has doubled the size of the guarding business and improved margins across the past two years. Stuart Lodge is to assume the role of international group CEO with a view to developing more international services.

AFC Group has announced the appointment of Steve Emmins as commercial manager for The City. He brings 18 years’ experience to the role, having worked on national key account management for financial institutions, solicitors, accountants and Government departments. In the past, Steve has worked at Chubb, G4S, MITIE Security, Lynx Security and Universal Security.

Independent consultant SGW Associates has a new senior consultant. Keith Pitcher brings 27 years’ experience in the technical design, engineering and commissioning of large-scale integrated security solutions to the role, serving for a long period as project design specialist/technical manager at Optimum Risk Management. He has been instrumental in designing some of the UK’s largest and most complex town centre and municipal CCTV systems.

Intelligent IP surveillance and security solutions provider Vigilant Technology has further expanded its sales team with the appointment of Dave Markland as business development manager. Markland joins from Cieffe, where he served as national sales manager. Previously, he worked at Richardson Electronics and was tasked with introducing the company’s popular security products to the Scandinavian and Benelux markets.

The British Parking Association (BPA) has officially welcomed Les Knight as president. Knight who succeeds Peter Guest has already announced the organisation’s new five-year strategy, which commits the BPA to raise standards further, support the needs of the consumer, develop its regulatory role and expand its range of member services. Les is the new business director at Euro Car Parks. Lynn Witham has been elected as the BPA’s next vice-president.

Dedicated Micros has appointed Steve Green as its national sales and distribution manager for the UK. Heading up an eight-strong team of area, business development and national account managers, Green already boasts a strong track record in the security sector having spent 18 months at Verint as direct sales manager for IP CCTV and video analytics. Prior to that, he worked at Norbain as divisional manager (national accounts).

Smart CCTV specialist developer of video analytics-based solutions for end users has invested in a second IT support manager to offer technical assistance in relation to customers’ cameras and network solutions. 27-year-old Mark Ramus comes from a PC sales and in-store technical support background.

Synectics Security Networks a market leader in the design, development and integration of advanced CCTV surveillance technology is further supporting its sales activity with the appointment of Mark Yeomans as sales engineer. Mark has ten years’ experience of engineering design, and is tasked with addressing the ever-increasing demand for the company’s control solutions across key applications and markets.

Nottingham-based Tecserv (UK), the fire and security specialist, has appointed Neil Berrisford to the senior management team as general manager and Carly Gibson as customer services manager. Neil brings 18 years’ experience in fire suppression systems sales to the role, while Carly joins having spent the past seven years in a customer services post at one of PowerGen’s Call Centres.

Merit LILIN (UK) has announced the dual appointments of Jana Gresova as internal account manager for the Midlands region and Tara Williamson as office administrator. Jana’s previous roles have included an account manager position at ADI-Gardiner. Tara will be responsible for sales and product support to end users and order processing.
