Daren Lang, who joins Axis from Panasonic Security Systems, will also be responsible for the company’s sales activities with installation and integrator partners.
In the most recent role of his 12-year stint with Panasonic, Lang was responsible for developing the company’s business through government and corporate channels, and for assisting specifiers with large-end user projects.
Steve Gorski, Axis’ managing director in the UK said, “We are delighted to welcome Daren to the Axis UK team.
“Daren has substantial experience working in the security industry, and specifically brings in skills and experience to help Axis assist the consultant community to ensure we can increase of our share of involvement in large capital projects.”
Lang said he believed that IP was the main growth area for security and that he was keen to work with Axis, which he sees as the market leader for IP.
“I am looking forward to getting Axis closer to consultants as we understand the vital role they play in specifying security systems for the corporate and government sectors,” he said.
The recently-launched A&E programme is designed to support network architects, engineers and consultants who are responsible for designing IP-based security systems.
