Axis Communications strengthens Northern European team

Following on from continued sales growth during Q3 2011, which was above the company’s long-term expectations in the market, Axis has created a number of new positions in its Northern European team which covers the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries.

Henrik Boman has been appointed as sales engineering and training manager for Northern Europe, and will be responsible for running and developing the team to support sales and business development activity. He will be based in Axis’ Lund office.

Meanwhile, Annika Frejj has been appointed as regional controller for Northern Europe. Annika will be working on a number of projects with the central finance team, using her experience in cost of sales and margin analysis to drive the business further forward.

The third new recruit to the Northern Europe team is Markus Lai who has joined as regional sales engineer. Lai will offer technical support to many of Axis’ existing key accounts and will also help Axis win and execute new business projects.

Continued demand for IP products

Phil Doyle, regional director for Northern Europe, said of the new appointments: “Despite the present economic uncertainty, we are still experiencing a continued demand for IP surveillance products. In fact, we do not expect this ongoing shift from analogue to IP technology to slow down, so our expansion plans to promote growth remain unchanged.”

Doyle added: “Henrik and Annika are bringing a wealth of industry experience to Axis Communications and will play an integral part in the ongoing success and expansion of the Northern European team.”

Prior to joining Axis Communications, Boman spent nine years at Sony Ericsson where he held a number of management positions in strategic sourcing and partner engagement. He also spent three years with Ericsson Mobile Communications where he was responsible for indentifying new software partners and developing strategies to grow the business.

Frejj also joins Axis Communications from Sony Ericsson where she held management positions in financial control, business control and (most recently) business transition. Internationally, Annika was responsible for setting up the business control function in a new venture for Sony Ericsson in Taipei where she was based for two years.

Finally, Lai joins Axis from Nohau Solutions, a leading provider of software development solutions. In this role, Markus worked with a variety of international organisations to chose and implement software development tools.

He also has experience of working closely with many of the Nordic’s leading silicon and software suppliers.
