Offering a range of building services, Eco FM combines facilities management (FM) expertise with an environmental focus in order to protect, preserve and prepare buildings for long-term tenancy or sale.
Axis Security is now supporting the company by providing a team of three officers (on rotation) at two multi-tenanted buildings managed by Eco FM in Belfast: MicroFocus House and the Floral Buildings (both of which are adjacent to St George’s Market in the city centre).
The officers, who are providing a concierge service for the tenants, are also responsible for reception duties and helping with visitors, as well as taking care of the security presence if required.
According to Derek Holding, joint director of Eco FM, he has been entirely satisfied with the service and levels of professionalism shown by Axis Security.
“We have found that they have supported us very well and we are pleased to be working with a company that has a local office in Belfast.”
The contract represents a positive addition to Axis Security’s national portfolio of clients and Jonathan Levine, group managing director of Axis Security, says that the company is pleased to have been able to meet the needs of Eco FM.
“We are delighted to have been chosen to work with Eco FM, offering a solution that is beneficial for the company as well as the building’s tenants. Once again, the professionalism of our staff has really come to the fore.”
Eco FM offers asset management, building, engineering and facilities management expertise, working closely with property owners and occupiers throughout the UK.
The company has a nationwide team of facilities management specialists headed up by directors Andrew Walker and Derek Holding, who have a combined 40 years’ experience in the property industry.
MITIE secures GB pound 350 million contract under West Midlands Construction Framework
MITIE has secured a four-year minor works and maintenance contract with the West Midlands Construction Framework valued up to GB pound 350 million, with the possibility of a further two-plus-two years extension.
Current works include reactive and planned repair and maintenance to all non-housing Council owned buildings, primarily with the Birmingham City Council South area.
As part of this framework, MITIE is eligible to work with up to 13 other local authorities within the West Midlands.
MITIE’s quality of service and strength of delivery on their current contract with Birmingham City Council has helped the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company secure a place in the new framework.
The team has been working with Birmingham City Council since 1995, providing reactive and planned repair and maintenance to all non-housing Council-owned buildings.
As part of the contract, MITIE will be supporting local employment with a commitment to create at least 15 trainee or apprenticeship placements and to develop small and medium-sized enterprises within their supply chain.
Cllr Randal Brew, Cabinet Member for Finance at Birmingham City Council, said: “We’ve worked with MITIE for over 15 years and are delighted to continue our partnership as part of this larger framework agreement. We were looking for a company who could not only provide a great service, but also provide real value for money and invest in the local area. MITIE has a proven track record to deliver on all these counts. I’m sure they will be a key player in the new framework in the months and years ahead.”
Bill Robson, managing director of MITIE’s Property Management business, added: “We’re delighted to be part of the West Midlands Construction Framework. In addition to our work with Birmingham City Council, we look forward to working with other local authorities as part of this framework and investing in the local area through back-to-work programmes.”
The new framework adds to MITIE’s portfolio in the Midlands, including non-housing works and maintenance for both Walsall Council and Tamworth Borough Council.
