Undertaken by Benchmark Research, the survey involved detailed telephone interviews with nearly 150 Adams Rite clients including access control specialists, locksmiths and architectural ironmongers.
The research found that, overall, more than 90% of Adams Rite customers were either ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the company’s products, order processing, product quality, packaging and levels of customer service, and that around 80% of customers feel that Adams Rite is a proactive supplier who takes the initiative in working with them.
Knowledgeable and responsive to business needs
Meanwhile, seven-in-eight respondents believe that Adams Rite responds quickly to questions, is knowledgeable and responsive to their business needs and firmly committed to the customer’s best interests. Over 70% of respondents said that when they thought of product quality, they thought first and foremost of Adams Rite.

Starting point for new initiatives
Speaking about the survey results, David Wigglesworth – the company’s managing director – told info4security: “It’s extremely gratifying that customers overall are happy with the products and services we’re offering, and view us as a provider of quality products. Of course, it’s only by maintaining and enhancing our standards in these areas that we’ll extend our relationships with our customers.”
Wigglesworth continued: “Certainly, we’re not complacent and we see the survey as very much a starting point for a number of new initiatives which will drive forward new product development and enhance the way in which we work with individual customers to ensure their needs are not just met, but exceeded. It will also provide a benchmark for us going forward.”
Access control locking products
Adams Rite was the originator of the swing bolt mechanism, developed to cope with locking narrow stile aluminium doors, which remains the preferred method of locking on the majority of commercial aluminium doors.
Today, the product sectors covered by the company include main locking, door controls, exit hardware, access control locking products and continuous hinges.
