October’s best read stories were lead by our coverage of the 2008 Security Excellence Awards. We announced the winners on the night itself, and continued our coverage with stories from the big event – like this one, and, indeed, this one.
Also in our top ten was this story which looked at the way some of the winners were celebrating their success.
The next most popular item in October was the piece on Irish company MK Survey & Sales, which is distributing a hybrid wind and solar powered CCTV kit.
Another story that captured the zeitgeist in a way that only stories about crime fighting mannequins can was our story about crime fighting mannequins – that’s store dummies with CCTV cameras in their heads.
Next up was an item that covered megapixel cameras preventing flytipping (UK) or illegal dumping (US). Either way, they prevented it.
And with these winter nights drawing in, a piece on security lighting products was always likely to gather some attention.
Rounding out the top ten were contrasting stories on guarding. One was about G4S’s plans to train officers to protect the Olympic Park development in London; while the other was about a guarding company boss from Nottingham who pleaded guilty to employing unlicensed officers.
