Blaze destroys 100 tonnes of cereal

A grain barn has been damaged by a fire involving around 100 tonnes of boxed cereal.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at Turweston Airfield in Buckinghamshire shortly before 4.45am today. Seven appliances along with a command and control unit and an urban search and rescue vehicle from Aylesbury attended the fire.

Firefighters used two jets, two hose reels, two sets of breathing apparatus and a Bobcat multi-purpose vehicle.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service report that the building was 25% damaged by fire and the cereal was destroyed.
