Completed in 1846, Liverpool’s Albert Docks were originally designed to accommodate 1,000-tonne cargo ships carrying rum, tobacco and cotton. Today, the renovated area on Merseyside plays host to award-winning museums, restaurants and bars.
The Albert Docks are described as the most visited multi-user attraction outside of London, with more than four million tourists and locals stopping by each year. That being the case, security at this UNESCO World Heritage Site is of paramount importance.
Existing cameras on the site had been supplied by Bosch Security Systems, client Gower Street Estates and the Merseyside Police alike praising the units’ performance. As the installation is continually reviewed with a view to enhancement, UIS has worked with the manufacturer to provide 14 new EnviroDome cameras and a concurrent 32-way matrix set-up.
The EnviroDomes are an integral part of Bosch’s AutoDome Series, featuring the innovative motion tracking capability AutoTrack. Rugged in design and ideally suited to perimeter surveillance and car park monitoring, the day/night cameras automatically switch from colour to monochrome operation when light levels decrease to give much-needed extra sensitivity.
