The German company belive it is a combination that will appeal equally to the CCTV and IT sectors, and it promises to offer high-quality surveillance with versatile and easy control.
Bosch say that the new Flexidome cameras have been created with ease of installation in mind, and they offer storage-efficient MPEG-4 video encoding and tri-streaming, as well as Direct-to-iSCSI recording. Via local area networks or the internet, images from multiple locations can be stored and managed centrally, purportedly allowing authorised access to content from anywhere the network can be accessed.
Cameras in the newest range from Bosch, who generated euro 43.7 billion in sales last year, are protected by vandal-resistant enclosures and increased intelligence should provide effective tamper detection. Optional IVMD (Intelligent Video Motion Detection) will provide advanced video content analysis directly at the camera.
Flexibility seems to be at the heart of Bosch’s latest venture; the FlexiDome IP cameras are compatible with Bosch management and recording systems including VIDOS, Bosch VMS and DiBos.
Flexidome IP models are said to offer day and night functionality and, according to Bosch: “high-definition pictures, even in brightly backlit locations”. The day/night cameras also include an IR filter to increase IR sensitivity for night viewing.
Bosch are clearly aiming this new IP range at a wide customer base. Their promotional materials boast that “retail establishments and warehouses, hospitals, schools, prisons and major transport facilities” would all benefit from the technology.
