Asset Security claims that the Sam-sung VPP package is “the most flexible and user-friendly observa-tion system on the market today”. For the first time, says Asset, retailers, hotels, schools and other small-to-medium system users can link up their existing cameras (what-ever the make or model) to this new system and also add extra new ones.
Re-using all their existing cameras allows users to expand their cover-age at much less cost and it also saves on the associated expense of pulling out and running new cabling.
The system can also accept a mix of specialist cameras such as infrared models allowing night time surveillance, vandal-resistant models or covert cameras.
The VPP is plug-and-play, allowing up to eight cameras to be quickly linked to a monitor via the built-in Triplex multiplexer.
When it was Bench Tested last October, our experts concluded: “It should integrate easily with other CCTV components, which puts it a notch or two ahead of the vast majority of rival packages.”

Addition to HomeMaster
HomeMaster has added a new audio-visual colour camera and a colour switcher to the HomeMaster home cabling system. The camera can be tuned to a free channel on the television set, and is connected to a modulator in the HomeMaster cabinet.
It can be used to see and hear outside the house or inside to monitor a child’s bedroom or any other room in the house. The camera is splash proof so that it can be fitted outside under the eaves or in a porch. A weatherproof case is available giving all weather protection when used outside.
By using the switcher, the householder can install up to four cameras and view each location in a timed sequence.

Wirefree option
Micromark’s new camera kit (MM23285) fills a gap in the domestic CCTV market by offering customers wireless CCTV in colour. With no cable to run between the camera and TV, the system is easy to install and suitable for protecting remote locations such as out-buildings, garages and sheds.
The receiver unit plugs directly into a television set so users can view the picture by changing the channel on their TV. With the use of one-way audio, they can hear as well as see their visitors.
The camera kit boasts a wirefree signal range from camera to receiver of 100m line of sight (20m through two brick walls) to suit most locations.

Compatible with any TV
The Videx Video Sender kit is compatible with any standard television set. It is a wireless CCTV system designed for the domestic market. Incorporating CCTV technology into a user-friendly system, this was one of the first of its kind to be available in the UK. The range was subsequently expanded to include the four-way Video Sender IR kit.
The IR version allows a user to incorporate up to four Video Sender cameras into a video monitoring system. Users can flick from one camera to another using an IR remote control.
The system is intended to provide a comprehensive surveillance system for the individual homeowner. Cameras can be trained on front or rear entrances or any other area where security may be a problem. Another could keep watch on the garage or street outside.
The IR kit can also provide a child monitoring solution. Parents can keep an eye on younger children as they play in the garden.
It can also transmit video, satellite and DVD pictures from one TV to another. The system is fully approved and transmits on a 2.4GHz ISM band, so no licensing is required.
