BSIA announces seminar programme for IFSEC 2007

IFSEC – the security industry’s premier trade show organised by CMP Information (publisher of Security Management Today) – will once again play host to a full day of BSIA Seminars.

On the morning of Tuesday 22 May at Birmingham’s NEC, the focus will be upon the challenges and opportunities offered by the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Speakers for this session include Tarique Ghaffur (assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service) and Andrew Amery (head of security at the technical and infrastructure department for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games).

In addition, the BSIA’s project director for 2012 – former Legion Security managing director David Evans – will offer a presentation outlining the private security industry’s perspectives on the event.

The afternoon session features seminars spanning biometrics, CCTV and identity fraud. Clive Reedman of the British Biometrics Association will examine how the technology is developing. Anthony Pearlgood (chairman of the BSIA’s Information Destruction Section) tackles the fight against fraud and Pauline Norstrom – the BSIA’s CCTV Section chairman – offers the latest insights on detector-activated surveillance.

Sponsored by Coversure Insurance Services, the seminars will be held in the Security Installer Seminar Theatre (to be found in Hall 7 at the NEC).
