Buchanan takes director’s role at Custom Consoles

Working alongside managing director Neil Reed, sales manager Gary Fuller and the 20-strong production staff at the company’s headquarters in Leighton Buzzard, Buchanan will supervise day-to-day management of the company’s activities as it continues to expand into new territories and a wider range of business sectors.

The CCTV technical control furniture specialist was founded back in 1996, initially to produce studio furniture for ATG Spectrum (a company Buchanan helped develop into ATG Broadcast, a highly successful systems integrator with clients in many countries).

“Graham’s relaxed and friendly style are appreciated by customers and colleagues alike, and helped build ATG Broadcast into a major player both as an independent company and, since 2006, as a subsidiary of the Danmon Systems Group,” commented Neil Reed.

Cable management is often crucial

Speaking about his new role and the challenges that lie ahead, Buchanan told SMT Online: “Custom Consoles’ furniture has won a very high reputation for attractive design, ergonomic efficiency and structural robustness. Within a short time of Custom Consoles being established, it began to win orders from third-party broadcast systems integrators and later went on to achieve substantial sales of desks for industrial process control and multi-screen security television.”

Buchanan continued: “The company’s early focus on studio requirements proved a good foundation for today’s largely IT-oriented world where efficient cable management, equipment ventilation and monitor display mounting are crucial to many contracts. My task will be to capitalise on these talents as we widen our market base.”

The company’s client base includes Government and corporate organisations across Britain, mainland Europe and Asia.
